Why is cleaning the camera and lenses important?
Camera cleaning is generally important to ensure the proper functioning of your photography equipment. Buttons can become stiff over time, dust accumulates in the grooves, and lens elements develop streaks. Furthermore, as mentioned above, dirt particles on the sensor directly affect image quality.
Last but not least, a well-maintained camera is advantageous if you plan to resell it later. This significantly increases its resale value!
Shouldn't I have my camera professionally cleaned?
You can certainly do that, but it's unnecessary in the vast majority of cases. Even if a camera shop offers professional cleaning, you should expect higher costs.
